Camp Miss IndependentCamp Miss Independent Camp Miss Independent (CMI) is a fun and exciting weekend where high school girls will gain tips for real world finances and independent living skills. During this weekend event, young women will learn important information on how to save money for a car or college tuition, put a budget together, and open a bank account. They will also learn about personal finance including how to find a place to live, pay for utilities, food, clothing, etc., and decide what kind of car they would like to drive. They then look at their salary and see if needs, wants, plans for the future, and educational level (high school grad vs. college grad) add up to a balanced budget. The weekend is not only educational, but fun too! We will have female college students talk about college life, the do’s and don’ts of dressing for success, and an interactive fashion show. Other activities will include: archery, wall climbing on our 30’ tower, Jazzercise - stretch and dance, cooking demonstration, crafts, bonfire, and so much more! Young women will stay in rustic cabins in the serene and natural setting of Camp Nawakwa, located on 14 acres of wilderness in the in the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest. The program will be from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon and bus transportation will be provided from Rancho Cucamonga for the first 50 girls registered.
